Sen. (Not Ma'am) Boxer Dresses Down General Over Title

Patricia Murphy of Politics Daily had this little tidbit about how best to address Sen. Barbara Boxer:

At a sometimes contentious Capitol Hill hearing Tuesday, Senate Environment and Public Works Committee chairwoman, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), had a request for Army Corps of Engineers division leader, Brigadier General Michael Walsh.

During a terse exchange, as Boxer pressed Walsh on why key improvements have not been made by the Corps to the New Orleans levee system nearly four years after Hurricane Katrina, she asked, "Could you do me a favor? Could you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am? It's just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title. I'd appreciate it."

The general's response? "Yes, Senator."

Listen Barbara, Mam, Senator,
You should apologize to the General for dressing a man down that has fought more wars, been in the trenches for YOU and OUR country (not just yours). You have alot of gall to pull that crap on him, a man that deserves nothing but respect and in case you didn't catch it, was trying to give it to you.

More proof that she is a worthless and irritating human that needs to be put out of office. She and Biden are two of a kind- real class acts. Get rid of her in the November elections... please!

To Anonymous, Brigadier General Michael J. Walsh has fought no wars. His own biography indicates the only trenches he's been in were dug by bulldozers doing site inspections for Engineering Projects on Staff Assignments in Europe, Saudi Arabia, Washington, DC, Baltimore, and yes, even Sacramento. He may have been reluctant to vote for any Democrat while in California considering his military up-bringing. And, if
one listens well, Senator Boxer said she'd, "appreciate it", after asking the general to do her "a favor". That doesn't strike me as 'dressing down'.
